"when we dance you have a way with me, stay with me, sway with me"

Tuesday night our blazer self-destructed spewing antifreeze all over the place. When we got home yesterday evening we cooked our dinner only to discover after having worked to prepare it that the meat was bad. Normally I'd say that yesterday was just plain horrible but it wasn't we got food and instead of watching we danced the evening away in our living room. We even pulled out our song "Everything" by Michael Buble' and we danced to it. I fell in love with my wonderful man all over again.

The wedding on Saturday made me very nostalgic so I decided to pull out the wedding pics and take a stroll down memory lane. Here are some of my favorite images from our wedding on 10/20/2007.
Hope you enjoy.

success and being a walking zombie go hand in hand

Oh my goodness where to begin. Last week was probably the most stressful of my life this far. I totaled close to 300 e-mails a day and countless hours of phone calls and last minute confirmations and changes for our event. I woke up at 7:00AM friday morning and we started decorating the ball park at 8:00 AM we finished around 2:30 and people started filing in around 3:00. I was overwhelmed by the number of people quickly filling up our track I was having to dodge people while I was running around the track like a crazy person trying to make sure everything went off without a hitch. Opening ceremonies moved me to tears as somewhere around 150 survivors rounded the track to "I will Survive" and my sister and I met my mom to place her survivor medal around her neck.
I spent most of my night texting the DJ telling him what announcements were next as our walkie talkies for whatever reason were absolutely not wanting to work. I think we totaled somewhere around 400 text messages by the end of night. It's a good thing we both have unlimited text messaging. We had activities and people galore right up until luminaria ceremony.

During the ceremony I stood on the stage and bawled as I was signaling to our dj in the press box what was coming up next with my cell phone. I don't know if it was stress relief or the outpouring of love I'd received and all the congratulatory hugs and the shouts of "hey "Mrs.A" this is awesome!!"

I can't tell you how many people stopped me just to tell me how awesome everything was. It was very overwhelming and I've never felt so alive.

We had some storms role in about midnight and it scared a lot of our crowd away but we were watching it and decided as a committee to stick it out. At around 1:30AM I finally got to sit down after 12 hours of running around. It didn't last very long only about 30 minutes and I was up and running again. I think I made it around the track a total of 6 times. Once for opening, once for the Father/Daughter lap with my father in law, and a few more times. Every other time I tried to take a lap I'd get stopped halfway around only to get sent in the opposite direction.

By 4:00AM our crowd had dwindled but we stuck it out and at 6:30 I got to announce that our event total was..........130,000 DOLLARS!!

Saturday morning I went home with my heart full of love, some humongous blisters, and running on about 30 minutes of sleep in 22 hours. I came home to over 50 e-mails and messages telling me how much fun everyone had. I was a tad disappointed that not many decided to stay and tough it out the whole time, and I hope whoever chairs next years event finds a way to encourage people to stay all night.

Overall it was a great weekend but I am glad it is over. I spent my saturday sleeping til around 3:00PM and I didn't do too much all day. Jeremy ordered pizza and we watched bad tv. Sunday we did make it to church in the morning and then I went home and slept til about 4:00 in the afternoon waking up off and on to watch a little of the Mets/Yankees game. I am just now feeling like a normal person again.

I don't think I'll miss the hundreds of e-mail messages and phone calls, but I will miss the smiling survivors.

I hope to have pics by the end of week.

picture update

my very first fondant cake.

Our balcony gardening attempts I think it looks pretty good. :)

beautiful asiatic lillies on our balcony.

new very bright shower curtain in our tiny ugly bathroom. The shower curtain makes it look better.

we took our doggie to the local dog park and learned that she is very anti-social and but she still had fun.

Happy doggie after going to the dog park.

goofy dog and husband.

first tiered cake second attempt with fondant. The flowers are free hand brush embroidery and the pattern is free hand.

Finally I was a little bored this afternoon after cake class so I decided to paint my dog's toy box just for the heck of it.

hope you enjoyed my picture update I'll be out of the blogging world this week because it's finally Relay week so I'll see you all on the flip side on Sunday the 14th hopefully I'll be celebrating a successful Relay and I'll definitely be relaxing :)

so I'm 24 today.

I know I'm young everybody keeps reminding me of that fact. I got woke up early by my sisters who were vying for the honor of being the first person to tell me Happy Birthday so I'm extremely tired but it's been a good day.

23 wasn't a bad year per se but I'm glad to see it go I'm looking forward to a much calmer year. I feel in the last few weeks I've really focused on balancing out my life instead of throwing myself head first into anything and everything possible. I've really tried to focus on my family, my health, and taking care of those I love the most. It's resulted in a lack of blogging although I do have an update with pictures from my Wilton course 3 final cake that I haven't got to post yet because my flickr page seems to not like my Mac computer at the moment. Soon I'll post it I promise.

in honor of my 24th birthday I have made a list of 10 things I will do in my 24th year.

1. I will take the time to look great (I have this habit of waking up ten minutes before work throwing on clothes, brushing my hair and going, I don't wear very much make up but I'm going to make an effort to look more polished)

2. I will eat healthy I have already started doing this and I can't wait to post the recipe for my homemade trail mix. I've cut back the caffeine and here's the best part I'M NOT TAKING MY SLEEPING PILLS!

3. I will wear perfume (I never buy myself perfume I love it but I never buy it that's going to change)

4. I will NOT over-schedule myself

5. take care of my skin it's the only skin I've got and it's got to last me

6. I will take charge of my health and make sure I am staying on top of health screenings, dental appointments, eye exams etc. etc.

7. I will smile more

8. I will eat breakfast

9. I will find my passion in life and embrace it
