My first trimester has been full of morning sickness and just plain exhaustion, but to add the fun let's throw in a stomach virus which landed me in the hospital to get IV fluids because I couldn't even keep water down, oh and just for kicks how about ear infections in both ears a week later.

Which leads to some interesting ensembles. But this last one she picked out has been making quite a splash on Facebook and with friends and family we think you'll agree it's a good look for her.

Mother's Day is probably my least favorite day of the year. Don't get me wrong I truly believe moms should be honored, but the truth is I spend the week before and the actual day missing what I don't have anymore.
There are times I feel like I've gotten a handle on this new normal life without my mom around, but mother's day leaves me with this big aching pain every year. I Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-60016153280057587712014-05-03T11:12:00.001-05:002014-05-03T11:12:01.455-05:00Easter 2014Better late than never right.
We started the day at church CC was supposed to sing with the kids choir and it was to be her first Easter performance. However she cried to be onstage sooner with the big kids therefore missing her own performance.
I was mortified I had the screaming child during the Easter performance :( Looking back I would've just let her get on stage with the big kids Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-12568735321705854922014-04-21T19:19:00.001-05:002014-04-21T19:19:45.855-05:00Life in 2014So I blogged about the pageant but not much about normal everyday life stuff. You know the stuff that makes up this crazy beautiful life I lead.
January passed without too much fanfare and even fewer pictures.
We spent alot of time painting pictures.
I embraced my inner teacher a little bit and created a learning wall for Carys it has the days of the week, the Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-84215561864365632602014-04-09T19:29:00.000-05:002014-04-09T20:42:51.304-05:00My Adventures at Mrs. Oklahoma 2014Mrs. Oklahoma weekend has come and gone and no I'm not the new queen but I did get called into the top 9 and I won a swimsuit award. I had no pre-conceived notions going in about winning I only had a goal to be called into the Top group and I was. I know now why I was not chosen the new queen and I am at complete peace with that.
I was very blessed to meet 13 other amazing women. There were 14 Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-29176370002700888242014-03-19T19:26:00.000-05:002014-03-19T19:26:15.760-05:00Strangely CalmSo here we are less than a week away from Mrs. Oklahoma and I'm strangely calm. I have no pre-conceived notions going into competition I'm simply there to present the very best version of myself and if that's what the judges are looking for then I will do well. It's unusual for me to be this calm leading up to something I've worked really hard for, normally I am a ball of emotions and nerves.

I am thinking everyone should have their own unique wardrobes and I'm not concerned about anyone copying me.
So without further ado this is my gown that I love! It's a mermaid fit and has beautiful lace cap sleeves the back is all lace as well.
Here's my interview dress I did not pick out my interview Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-26367884320686513612014-02-24T18:26:00.001-06:002014-02-24T18:26:28.365-06:00Strike A PoseI was in desperate need of new headshots when I decided to enter Mrs. Oklahoma and I did actually take these back in October of 2013 with Jeremy Ostercamp at his home studio. I wore a bright green wrap dress it's a dress that I've gotten a lot of compliments when I wear regularly at work and I thought wearing it might boost my confidence with pictures. I hit my early twenties and my face erupted in big ugly hormonal acne. I struggled to cover it with cakey make up and just resigned to a life of dealing with it. On into my mid twenties my skin sort of calmed down and settled in to some pretty predictable patterns Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-7577252598595892032014-02-12T18:49:00.003-06:002014-02-12T18:59:38.979-06:00The Power of Phone EtiquetteSo Sunday afternoon I got a vacation. AKA I got to go shopping by myself. :) Mom's will totally understand that statement. I'd kept in touch with her through work she teaches at night where I work. I'd always thought her a pretty cool person we'd talked a bit and some about deep issues but never super long or indepth. We'd exchanged numbers recently on account of her getting the opportunity to be a stay at home wife which is something I've Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-33150335312160276662014-01-29T21:12:00.000-06:002014-01-30T17:54:15.707-06:00What Are You Worth?!If you truly had to answer that question how would you? Do you find your worth in your education, your dress size, your children's accomplishments, your own accomplishments, your beauty or what you perceive as lack of, do you base it on your spiritual relationship, or your actual relationships?

We got them after a week long wait and they were sent to another doctor to be reviewed. Carys's mass is a slow flow vascular lymphatic malformation that is benign. When the news came of her MRI schedule date I immediately began praying and talking about her getting the MRI quicker since we put her on the cancellation call list. I posted on my FB page and I posted here about the dreaded wait and how I knew it would be difficult but with prayer we would get through it.

For those of you who've been around for awhile. You might remember this post where I shared the scary journey of finding a lump on my infant daughter's left side. We went through scary scenarios and did an ultra sound and eventually a sedated CT Scan on her tiny little body only to be told a few weeks later. You can ask my husband I'm usually the one who gets giddy excited about Christmas music, decorating, making yummy treats, and celebrating but this year I'm just not excited. There are a number of contributing factors to my bah humbug attitude toward Christmas this year.
Topping the list include my daughter Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-86174814311618024332013-11-06T18:51:00.001-06:002013-11-06T18:51:31.033-06:00Submission Mr. A and I joined an amazing church in 2009, we built relationships, I served in different capacities, and we were there all the time, then life happened we moved to our now hometown 20 minutes away from our church, and we had a baby a year after that. What seemed like a short little drive before Carys suddenly seemed like a huge obstacle in getting to church on time. The first one was the Law Of Love by Beth Moore it was lessons from Deuteronomy, and we've just begun A Study of Gideon by Priscilla Shirer. I'm in love with this wonderful time of fellowship with other women. It's been such a gift to have this two hours every week to Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-81913872656417366912013-10-28T19:07:00.001-05:002013-10-28T19:26:14.903-05:00Fall Fun 2013So this past weekend was spent enjoying our Halloween festivities in our community and in our state. We spent Friday night at Storybook Forrest at Lake Arcadia and Sunday was our church's Trunk or Treat Event.
In keeping with the tradition of family costumes I asked Carys what she wanted to be and she of course emphatically stated "CINDERELLA"!!! So with that in mind I set to work coming up Gingerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07795344042152429323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7563860463270735094.post-63445276805144125662013-10-24T21:00:00.005-05:002013-10-24T21:00:53.714-05:00I'm Ready! It's been several months since I posted here and a few years since I've been a regular poster. It was a very surreal experience feeling like an outsider in the town I grew up in. I do have some loose connections to a few people who lost their homes but overall my people came out unscathed.
